Moreton Island is the third largest sand island in the world and is situated just 40 kilometres north east of Brisbane. The island is 38 kilometres long and 9 kilometres across at its widest point, and is just a 75 minute ferry ride from Brisbane. The island is 98% National Park, and supports an amazing variety of flora and fauna. It is also home to the highest coastal sand dune in the world (Mount Tempest, 285 metres) which offers breathtaking 360 degree views from it’s peak. The clean fresh air, crystal clear water and beautiful sand are just some of the stunning natural features of Moreton Island.
