Tangalooma Eco Nature Tour

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

The Eco Nature Tour from Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort is one not to be missed. One of many tours offered by the resort, this tour is rewarding in many ways.

Seeing female dolphins with very young calves, teaching them feeding and survival skills in their natural habitat is definitely one of the main highlights of the tour. They warn their calves of danger by biting their young as a form of discipline. This is one of the many things the young calves must learn as they grow. The pleasure of seeing them frolicking in the water is simply an unforgettable experience. You can expect to see different pods of adult dolphins in numbers from 5 to 25 at a time surfing and diving deep in feeding patterns. This is truly an amazing feat of nature at it’s best to be up close and witness this happening.

Other creatures you may see while on this tour in Moreton Bay include green turtles, dugongs, stingrays, and possibly some large fish!

Check with resort staff for the availability of this tour, which can be dependant on weather and numbers booked. The tour runs for approximately 2.5-3 hours.
